The Shed is a backpacker and camping site located in the farming town of Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal. Attractions nearby include the Drakensberg mountain range, Mzimkhulu River, Coleford Nature Reserve, Gqumeni Forest, and Garden Castle State Forest.The accommodation is a spacious shed which features one bedroom, communal ablutions, a shared kitchen, and an open-plan lounge and dining area with a fireplace. The bedroom sleeps six people and features a double bed and two bunk beds.There are also two caravan or campsites with electricity available. The shared kitchen is equipped with a two-plate stove, microwave, and a fridge-freezer. Guest can enjoy hiking, fly-fishing, river rafting and tubing, sightseeing in the Drakensberg on horseback, biking, and golfing in the area.

THE SHED REVIEWS (69 %) Saw snow on the mountais by Fiona Greenhough 16 May 2017 Peaceful and quiet. Ablution block and communal kitchen well maintained. Everything I needed was catered for. I was in a none 4x4 motorhome and the roads and entrance are not the best. Also signage needs to be improved as I was on the place before I realized it and had to drive on before I could turn. Also entrance is only from 1 direction. Owners very friendly and accommodating, I have cats with me and though the place is not pet friendly we managed. Nice fireplace but open area a bit chilly. Lovely views by Anneke Van Heek 29 December 2017 It's a very nice place for camping. There are decent facilities and a pretty well-equipped kitchen. There are never too many people, so it is quiet and clean. There are braais and they sell braai wood. The views are lovely. It is just outside the town, so easily accessible but peaceful. Also, not much to do at the facility. A beautiful base for Drakensberg adventures! by Kim Mussmann 15 July 2018 We had a wonderful stay here in April. The view from our tent was magical and the shed was kitted out with everything we needed for cooking, braaiing, ablutions and washing. It is close to the local shops, restaurants and activities. We enjoyed the cozy undercover fire in the evenings and chats with Crosley about activities in the area. The free Wi-Fi was great to be able to plan our Drakensberg adventures.
