The Dusty Vine

The Dusty Vine Hoek Huis is part of the Dusty Vine collection of self-catering houses in the historic town of Philippolis. Situated in the Bo-Karoo between Colesberg and Trompsburg, Philippolis is the ideal stay-over on a road trip, or a quiet destination to come revive your senses.

Hoek Huis is a grand old Karoo lady set on the corner of historic Tobie Muller Street. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, and has 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed. The second and third bedrooms each contain 2 single beds. The first bathroom contains a bath and a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The second bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.

The historic Nagmaal Huis is a national monument. This quaint cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and contains 2 bedrooms, both of which are en suite. Each bedroom contains a double bed. One of the bathrooms contains a bath with a handheld shower attachment, a toilet and a washbasin. The other bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.

Both lounge areas have their own fireplace to keep things cosy on chilly winter nights. The Hoek Huis offers a kitchen, an open-plan lounge and dining area, and a second lounge. It has a wraparound patio, as well as a private courtyard area with outdoor dining furniture.

Nagmaal Huis - The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, and all necessary cutlery and crockery. The lounge area offers a fireplace to keep things cosy on chilly winter evenings. The cottage opens to a private courtyard with outdoor furniture and braai facilities.

Philippolis is full of interesting people, fascinating architecture and a colourful history that is still a work in progress. This little southern Free State village, tucked away off the N1 at the toe of the Horizon Route, has the idyllic kind of atmosphere most people have come to expect from the Karoo.
