River Cottage is a most romantic and secluded stone and thatch cottage on the river. A favourite with couples, several have returned more than 10 times! Situated on the banks of the Palala river, this private lodge is the perfect mix of stylish comfort and excellent facilities from which to explore and enjoy the bush.

A single bedroom draped with a mosquito net, a sunken bathroom, spacious sitting room with open plan kitchen and a shady verandah from which to enjoy game viewing, read a book or relax in the hammock.

Equipped to a very high standard ? this is true get away from it all in style.

Enjoy self ?drive game viewing or book one of our experienced rangers for a drive or guided walk. Subject to availability. The braai area is set on the river bank. Firewood is available.

Peace, quiet and in the middle of the bush by

This little cottage on a private game reserve was AMAZING! it is tucked away in the bus overlooking a little dam. Stocked with everything one needs for a romantic weekend away! Wow. We walked safely in the middle of the bush, could drive around the reserve on our own. It is a fantastic escape ..I can highly recommend it. We will be going back very soon!

Very clean with all amenities. Close to the river - I think the summer will be a problem with the mozzies. Also too close to the main road - traffic noise is distracting. Plenty of wild life, not too wild. Baboons and monkeys could be a problem but NO hunting is allowed?? Groans: The person who designed and built the entrance to the pantry should be shot! Just cut away and adjust the steps will solve that problem.! That piece of yellow duct tape does not help at all! Same goes for the pole at the entrance. The spacers should be at the BOTTOM to LIFT the pole idiot! While the above is in place as it is, a HUGE first aid box should be on hand for the head injuries. Otherwise a great place to stay - if they provide candles for the Evkom disaster - and please warn us at least before hand??

Chalet was privately situated and very comfortable with everything you could need surrounded by wildlife roaming around us.

Being left totally on your own without disturbance.

Walking, the bush, lots of game ! by
