Jack's Place is a perfect getaway from the daily buzz. The house has been renovated recently and offer beautiful views. Guests can enjoy canoeing, hiking, mountain-biking or fishing. A swim in the river is an absolute must! The farm has a circular mountain bike route of 15 km.

The nearby Karsriver hosts more than 75 bird species. Eland, kudus and springbok roam in the camp where the house is situated. The establishment is well equipped. DSTV is provided. Jack's Place is near Bredasdorp, a town that has many interesting shops as well as excellent restaurants.

Home away from home (but better!) by

We didn't like Jack's Place - we LOVED it! Firstly, the photos on here don't do it justice. We walked into a modern, charming farmhouse. The furnishings were perfect in that setting and we wanted for nothing. Also, two of the rooms are huge. We joked that you could swing TWO cats in the master bedroom.
The little touches were also very much appreciated - firewood ready, rusks in the kitchen, ice in the freezer, soaps on the towels. Simply lovely.
Our 4 city kids had an absolute blast - they rode their bikes, snuck around trying not to scare the eland herd, checked out windmills, kidnapped bugs and swam in the river, getting covered in mud from head to toe! (apologies for the shower mess!)
Waking up to that amazing pastoral view across the hills, with sheep baa-ing and cows moo-ing, while a flock of blue cranes circled overhead, was so peaceful and therapeutic. We spent most of our time on the stoep, talking, braaing, soaking up the sun, colouring in, doing puzzles and so on.
It was so lovely to meet Cecilia and Boeta - perfect hosts who popped in for just long enough and then left us to enjoy their amazing space.
Thank you! We are so sad we only had one night but we will be back soon!!

Peaceful escape from the city and holiday crowds by

Comfy beds, considerate owners provided fans and extra bed. River swim and walking/running/cycle route. Lovely view from porch and enough showers, basins and loos for group size. Will email suggestions for improvements to owners. The website directions are incorrect. The turnoff to the farm is 4,5km from the railway line, not 'after 7 km', which is the total distance to the farm itself.

2 Boets road trip by

Just loved the setting, peace and tranquillity. Occasional game passing by was lovely. Beds were so comfy and facilities good.Was great to spend Old years eve in such tranquillity.
