You can walk for miles along our sandy beach or enjoying the Touws River estuary which leads from the beach up-river to the waterfall or along the Serpentine through to Island Lake.
Our beautiful oak staircase traverses the levels of the luxurious Hamilton House. On the First floor, there is an additional communal kitchen, honesty bar, lounge, and dining area, with glass sliding doors leading out to a large outdoor furnished deck should guests wish to spend time together.
The Honesty bar includes a selection of wine, beers, spirits, and mixers, with an ice-maker, wine cooler, and purified water. Guests can enjoy the sheltered garden at the rear of the property for a communal braai on the garden deck. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available for use by our guests.
Upon reaching the Second Floor one is greeted by breath-taking views of the Sea. On this Large 100sqm furnished deck guests can enjoy time together sipping sundowners or just relaxing in the sunshine. There are braai facilities available in this communal area.
Our suites are elegant yet comfortable and reflect the tranquillity of the Indian Ocean and Touws River estuary, all of which are within short walking distance of the property. Also, an easy stroll to the quaint village center of Wilderness, with a variety of restaurants, pubs, and unique shops to discover. You will not require your vehicle with secure off-street parking provided.
With a slight bohemian air, Wilderness boasts with many trendy restaurants and shops that cater to every taste. Located at the heart of South Africa's pristine Garden Route, so named for the breathtakingly beauty of the natural environment. The village is ideally located to explore the other gems of the Garden Route and the Klein Karoo.
Wilderness lies on either side of the N2 national road, approximately midway between the metropoles of Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, and the domestic airport at George is no more than a 25-minute drive away. There are hiking and mountain biking trails close by, world-class golf courses and, of course, the stunning natural surroundings to explore. The boardwalk entrance is 100m from Hamilton House. The boardwalk continues along the Touws river and gives access to numerous well documented walking trails in the pristine Parks Reserve.
