Adonsonia Lodge

Set in the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger Park, Adonsonia Lodge is a small family run Bed & Breakfast offering an affordable stay in the African bush.

Originally built as a farmhouse, the house has been extended over time adding 3 spacious rooms, all with private bathrooms and their own entrance, while still retaining the sense of a family home. With a maximum of 6 visitors at any time you are ensured of personal attention and service.

Our resident Bushbuck graze on the lawn and a troupe of mischievous Vervet monkeys sleep in the trees surrounding the lodge, providing a wake up call in the morning! We have many birds visiting our garden and Elephant, giraffe and other game is regularly seen in the dry river bed or in the grassy area behind the lodge, and as we have chosen for minimal fencing you truly feel up close and personal with our animal visitors. We also offer Game Drives on the reserve with a qualified FGASA guide.

A large shady thatched porch and lapa offer place to sit, relax and enjoy the stunning views while a splash pool provides a welcome place to cool off from the midday heat. In the evening meals are served under the thatched lapa or on the patio under the stars, and when it gets cooler a large firepit provides a warm and comforting place to sit and listen to the sounds of the bush.

Kruger Phalaborwa gate is an easy 30 minute drive away. Packed breakfast and lunch can be provided or just relax and enjoy a guided trip with us.We look forward to sharing our little piece of paradise set in the unspoiled African bush with you.
